Cassidy Civiero is a Canadian filmmaker with a focus on content that deals with mental health, gender and sexuality. His film Return to Nature (2024) was funded by the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund and won Critic's Choice at the Experimental Film Fest after premiering at the Penticton Art Gallery for a two-month window. His eco-horror film, Ethical Consumption (2023), was funded by the Voices With Impact production grant and the Mental Health Commission of California. In the series space, Cassidy was a writer and co-executive producer on You're My Hero (2022-2025) for CBC Gem; and co-creator, writer and director on the series Sweet as Sugar (2026-) for Out TV. He is currently in pre-production for his feature debut as a director, Stages of Change, with funding from Canada Council for the Arts and Telefilm's Talent to Watch program.
