Eve Sanchez is a filmmaker born and raised in East Los Angeles. A beginner roller derby player in the Los Angeles area, Eve created Starting Whistle as part of their master’s thesis project. Their interest and participation in roller derby make the film especially personal, marking their first step into filmmaking with an authentic perspective.
