Gates Callanan is a mixed media artist, experimental animator and puppet maker. Their passion for stop motion has brought them to Portland, New York, and occasionally back to their hometown of Providence, RI. Fueled by curiosity, Gates continues to explore their artistic practice through materials, narratives and textural abstraction.
