Jeannice Mustafá López, is a Cinematographer and Camera Operator based in San Juan, PR. She has been working in the industry in PR and the US for 14 years. She did her undergrad studies in film and literature at the University of Puerto Rico and studied a masters degree in Cinematography at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. Jeannice is an active member of IATSE's Local 600 as a Camera Operator and is currently working as a Cinematographer and Camera Operator on feature films, short films, documentaries, commercials, music videos and live music events. She has lensed music videos for internationally renowned artists such as Princess Nokia ("Diva") and RaiNao ("BSUKEO"), and brought her talents to narrative shorts like "La espera"—an award-winning short and official selection at LALIFF and PHLAFF—and "Mara Has Three Jobs in San Juan, Puerto Rico", part of the prestigious Tribeca’s Rising Voices Season 3. She has had the opportunity to collaborate with other artists such as ILe, Ivy Queen, Villano Antillano, Arcángel, Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny among others. Jeannice has been nominated twice for a Suncoast Emmy for documentary projects in Puerto Rico in collaboration with the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture. In 2023 she won the award for best cinematography with her short “Pan de la esquina” by director Natalia Vega at the European Film Festival in Puerto Rico. At the beginning of 2024, she achieved the goal of filming her first feature film as a DoP, “Hasta que la celda nos separe” by director Mariana Emmanuelli, currently in post production, followed by her second feature film “Extranjera” by director Michelle Malley, currently participating at Cannes International Film Festival's Marché du film and Guadalajara Film Market of the Guadalajara International Film Festival.
