Biography

British composer Angela Morley, who came out as trans in 1972, scored 16 films between 1952 and 1977, including children’s classics The Little Prince (1974) and Watership Down (1977). She also did orchestrations and arrangements on films including Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), Superman (1978), Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), The Karate Kid (1984), Home Alone (1990), and Schindler’s List (1993). Her compositions won three Emmy Awards and were nominated for two Academy Awards and a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Award.
