Nate Gualtieri

Nate Gualtieri (he/they) is a transmasculine writer and director from the suburbs of Boston. He most recently worked as a Staff Writer on the Berlanti/CW series GOTHAM KNIGHTS and is currently a Writing Fellow with Film Independent’s Project Involve 2023. Nate is also credited as the co-writer on DESIRE LINES, a new semi-scripted documentary film by director Jules Rosskam. He is a graduate of the USC screenwriting program and began his career as a writers’ assistant and script coordinator for streaming drama series including TINY PRETTY THINGS and THE MORNING SHOW. In 2018, they were named a HUMANITAS College Drama Fellowship Finalist for their pilot, THE RADICALS. Additionally, Nate was a semifinalist in the 2021 Outfest Screenwriting Lab for his original feature script, ALL-AMERICAN BOY. His latest short film, PIERCING, starring Alexander Eadie, River Gallo, and Shaan Dasani, premiered at the 2022 Outfest Film Festival. Comprised of an all-trans main cast, the film was awarded a Trailblazer Grant from the Transgender Film Center and continues to have a successful festival run. Other narrative shorts in their directing portfolio include SEAHORSE, starring transgender comedian Ian Harvie. Nate writes about toxic masculinity, transgender characters and is passionate about finding big stakes in small stories.
