My name is Ley Comas, I am a production sound mixer, filmmaker and educator. I am Afro-Caribbean; born in Costa Rica and raised in the Dominican Republic, where my family is rooted. I migrated to The Bronx in 2013, where I continued my film education and career. Some of my production sound work has been included in several film festivals and major streaming platforms. As an educator, I am currently an Adjunct professor at Temple University and was Part-Time Faculty member at the New School in fall 2021. As a non-binary filmmaker of trans experience, my work is grounded in collaborating and creating films that highlight and empower the narratives of historically underrepresented and oppressed identities. My latest film, Ni Aqui / Ni Alla has screened in over 20 film festivals around the USA and internationally. Winning four awards and receiving an honorary mention. I enjoy bike riding, exploring culinary experiences, and spending time with my partner and cats.
