Biography

Tee Jaehyung Park is a filmmaker originally from Seoul, Korea. Her filmography includes the Pupal Stage, Winter Insect Summer Flower, and Tofu. A trans woman of immigrant experience, Park’s work explores alienation, unconventional bonds, and flawed female protagonists. She’s also a USC Screenwriting graduate and a proud SoCal girl.

Tee Jaehyung Park is a transgender writer, director, and actor who migrated from Seoul when she was 12. Park’s directorial debut, The Pupal Stage, screened at multiple festivals including NewFest and NFTTY. In 2021, Park participated in the Disruptors Fellowship for marginalized television writers. Her second directorial effort Winter Insect, Summer Flower, premiered at Slamdance in 2022. Through her work, Park seeks to accurately portray and honor her community of trans people of color. The world she envisions is where marginalized voices aren’t just assimilated, but liberated.
