Biography

Kate Jones-Davies joined Raw Charm in the autumn of 1990 as a trainee production manager. By the spring of 1993, she managed a production for BBC2, which took the production team on a 16-day journey through Eastern Europe, filming in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. In 1994, she earned her directorial break filming "Finishing School" for Channel 4. Since then, Kate has directed and produced a number of highly successful films and series. Since some of the subject matter that Kate takes on can be of a very sensitive nature, Kate undertook a documentary camera-operating course. This enables her to direct and film in the most difficult of circumstances. Kate became Managing Director in 2004 and has since Produced/Directed The Weston Front, a series about the West Country Holiday resort, and Weston’s Forgotten Army and Prisoner of War Stories with Simon Weston OBE. The latter two told the stories of British Soldiers in Japan and the Far East during world War Two and with other Raw Charm programmes provided a week of programming during V.J. week on various BBC channels in Wales.
