Throughout his fourteen-year career as a director, writer and producer, Mateo Guez has taken the same fearless approach to his art that he applies to life outside of his work. His first feature film, Off World, shot on location in the vast urban slum of Manila's Smokey Mountain, is an intimate portrait of both the place and the people who inhabit it. His second feature film, Together Alone, is a psychological “huit clos,” a meditation on the fine line between love, lust and companionship for friends in a love triangle.
