Coral Short is a non binary white artist born in 1973. They are a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and their niches are LGBTI, recovery, creativity, and all forms of radical sexuality. They are a graduated Community Dharma Teacher at True North Insight in Montréal, Tiohtià:ke, and co-lead Queer Sangha in Montréal and Berlin. They are also trained as an ECPR Practitioner. Coral works with the Stretch Festival in Berlin at the Somatische Akademie/ Village Berlin and the Montreal Somatics Festival. They hold anti-racist courses and groups for their meditation, somatics, and queer communities internationally. Coral has been an active international queer community organizer, activist, and artist for over two decades.

Coral Short was born on a beautiful island off the west coast of Canada and was raised by a lively river in the countryside where their eccentric family lived off the land. They spend a fair amount of time dispersing their magic around the globe – in the air, on railroad tracks and highways all the while curating and doing artist residencies. Coral has lived and created art in Asia, North America, and Europe for the last 15 years. They have many beloved people, communities, and locations that they calls home. Short and their countless projects move at the speed of light; ironically they are the most still when they travel.

Coral Short is an international performance, sound and video artist. Humour, fantasy and transformation are essential elements of their work, which bridges the gap between night-life and art, incorporating the entire range of ideas related to their communities. In their work they supports the identity and energy of the new queer generation. Coral Short currently lives and works in Montreal and New York.

Coral Short is a prolific sound, video and performance artist. They have created art while living in Asia, North America and Europe for the last two decades. Since the inception of their artistic career, they have instinctually been drawn to projects that are collaborative and collective in nature.
