A considerable amount of information, especially with regard to recent history, was gleaned from viewing videotapes; significant here were the contributions of Lucia Davis, an independent filmmaker who has been documenting the drag kings of New York since 1995. Her films, Kings of New York (1996), Murray for Mayor (1997), and Men We Love (1997), as well as her insights, were instrumental in providing background on the more cohesive drag king scene that existed seemingly just before my project began. They allowed me also to witness the infancy and recognize the maturation of kings such as Mo B. Dick, Murray Hill, Dréd and Shane (previously known as Shon).

I was Founder/CEO of The Art Bus Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and mobile exhibit providing public access to art and the creative agenda to communities across the country. Prior to creating The Art Bus Project, I was Director of Content at Obviously Social, a New York City-based social media agency. I'm also a journalist and editor, previously holding editorial positions at several trade publications, including PR News and iMedia Connection. In addition to PR News and iMedia, my writing has appeared on Atlas Obscura, The Alumni Horae, minonline, Beauty World News, "The Minetta Review," "EQUITIES Magazine," and "The Foothills Paper." I was a 2017 Guild Hall Artist-in-Residence in East Hampton, NY, for her work in the field of curatorial/critical studies, selected by the architectural critic and editor Paul Goldberger. I'm forward thinking and resourceful, with excellent writing abilities and social media expertise. I'm a strong negotiator with a keen eye for business development. I am adept at all things social, from campaign strategy to content creation across all platforms, with a thorough understanding of the landscape. I'm comfortable with CMS systems and basic HTML coding, as well as SEO and digital strategy. I have bountiful experience managing editorial teams, doing live coverage of events, creating and implementing metrics systems, processing web analytics and working directly with brands of all sizes and across multiple industries.
