Renowned trans Latina activist Bamby Salcedo has overcome incredible adversity to
become one of the most effective advocates in the movement. After tangles with the
police in her native Guadalajara, Mexico, bouts of drug addiction, and multiple stints
in prison, Bamby moved to Los Angeles to change her life. Since then, she has become
a beloved model for trans, youth, Latin, immigrant, and queer communities and this
year was honored at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Creating Change conference.
Director Dante Alencastre continues his exploration of trans issues with this chronicle
of the life and work of an inspiring leader.
