Description

Three decades of queer cinema. One night of remembrance, joy, and love.
As Three Dollar Bill Cinema celebrates its 30th anniversary, we invite you to a special event that honors the legacy, and future, of queer filmmaking in Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest. Homegrown is a cinematic mixtape and living archive, featuring nearly 40 locally made works: shorts, features, and documentaries crafted by queer filmmakers who call this region home.
These films span generations and genres, but they all share one thing: a voice that couldn’t come from anywhere else. Queer means something beautifully different here. It’s scrappy, tender, defiant, weird, wild, intersectional, and unmistakably local - and you’ll see it in every frame.
Part clip show, part historical documentary, part nostalgia trip, and part archaeological dig, this Homegrown screening unearths the untold stories, lost gems, and bold visions that helped shape our cinematic identity. It’s a chance to reflect on where we’ve been, to rediscover what’s been nearly forgotten, and to celebrate the artists - past and present - who continue to push us forward.
Come celebrate our roots, our resilience, and our radiant future.
