On their sober anniversary, Syd (they/them), a gender-fluid Latine performance artist
enlists Yvette (she/her), a neurotic Korean-American therapist, for emotional support.
Syd plans to debut their latest performance art piece at the meeting. Yet upon entering,
they discover they're actually at a gathering for Northwest Gathering of Workers and
Dreamers of the Light (NWGOWADOL), led by Guy, a charismatic cult leader.
Syd decides to perform anyway—but Yvette unexpectedly steals the show. Overtaken by
some invisible spirit, she speaks in tongues; NWGOWADOL swarms her in awe.
The friends process the event afterwards. Yvette's ancestor spirit, Halmeoni (grandma),
pays a visit and explains the uncanny events.
