while I read this letter/mientras leo esta carta, is a Film Diary commissioned for the exhibition "Another Postcard Here and There" at Whitebox Gallery in New York City. In the film Anto(n) addresses their family in Chile to share some of their experiences in the country of residence. This is an exercise inspired by the video-letter format of the AMAME project organized by the Ñukanchik People collective. Using verbal narrations, Anto(n) uses personal archive of moving images captured since their return to the United States in 2012, covering a span of time that includes family members visiting them in New York, COVID-19 pandemic times, friends gatherings, Chile's new constitution referendum and even some glimpses to their time in Dolgeville, NY where they graduated high school as an Exchange Student in 1999.
