The poster is features a drawing of an old tape recorder. On the left half of the poster, the recorder is drawn in a muddy pastel pink in front of a navy blue background. On the right half of the poster, these colors are inverted, with the recorder being drawn in navy blue and the background in muddy pastel pink. Above the recorder is the film's title, "Magdaleena," drawn in muddy pastel pink on the left side of the inversion and navy blue on the right side of the inversion, just like the tape recorder. Also in muddy pastel pink are a series of award badges which appear on the right side of the poster, and the text "A film by Elian Mikkola," which adorns the bottom left corner of the tape recorder. The only break in the color scheme is a square button at the centre of the tape recorder, which is electric blue on the left side and orange on the right side.
Description

As a patient, a captive in her own inner life, Magdaleena succesfully resists her psychiatrist. The confrontation, filmed in split screen, is less an actual case study than a metaphorical story, based on the filmmaker’s personal experience of being looked at as the ‘other’ because they lives and performs outside the binary gender norm.
