Sixteen-year-old Murat is a Berliner, Turkish and gay. And he's hungry for experience.
In Murat's family, big brother Osman calls the shots. He believes men who love other
men are a disgrace. Murat secretly cruises in parks at night and becomes submerged
in an enigmatic subculture of Turkish rent boys and transvestites. He adores the dimly-lit
bars, the hip-hop music blaring out of old BMWs and life on the streets of Berlin,
where there are no rules. For a short time he is happy, until fate intervenes. Murat
meets Lola - a Turkish singer in transvestite show and the star of his milieu. Lola
is surrounded by a coterie of admirers - rent boys, transvestite performers and her
lover Bilidikid. Lola and Murat become friends, but then a secret is unearthed, revealing
family truths that shatter Murat's world. He emerges at last to find a way of living
his life without deception.
