Description

Baillie Walsh's Mirror, Mirror, portrays Hispanic transsexual Consuela Cosmetic, living with AIDS in NYC and negotiating the affects of a mastectomy on the body she has worked so hard to transform, using self administered hormone and silicone injecting therapy as well as cosmetic surgery. Walking that fine line between gender reassignment 'sex change' and 'realness' achieved by mirroring gender through performing it. Surviving grim adversity Consuela emerges as a powerful spokesperson for her choices and lifestyle. A candid, compassionate and poignant tribute to her.
