Usability Test Report Now Available Online

pink and orange with white text: Usability Test Report 2020

The Transgender Media Portal Usability Test Report, co-authored by Kit Chokly, Jay Cooper, Oliver Debney, and Laura Horak, is now available online at Humanities Commons.

This report is intended as a guide to facilitate the development of the Transgender Media Portal. By conducting these tests, we are hoping to get:

  1. Ideas for how to make the website and database fun and easy to use—a genuine community resource;
  2. Ideas for how to run the website and database so that they are ethical, fair, and do not put trans people in harm’s way;
  3. A better understanding of how the project can respond to the wants and needs of varied trans communities; and
  4. Ideas for “Best Practices” to share with other academics undertaking similar projects (e.g. databases that are inclusive of contemporary and historical gender identities, community-academic partnerships, crowdsourced digital projects, etc.)
