Lightyear is a Los Angeles and New York based entertainment company, a leading and award winning innovator in film and music, founded in Manhattan in 1987. We mount and market national theatrical releases. We sell to television, Video-On-Demand, and AVOD/SVOD. Our digital and physical film distribution is conducted through MVD in North America, reaching outlets like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, iTunes as well as physical retail stores. Our film library includes more than 120 films. On the music side, Lightyear marketing and distribution provides a way for independent artists to bring their music to the marketplace while maintaining ownership of their recordings. Our music goes out through Virgin Music, the indie arm of Universal Music Group. Through Virgin, we have the ability to reach over 70 digital download and streaming outlets like iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify, and all the physical brick and mortar outlets, from small indie shops to big box retailers. Our reach is worldwide and our music library includes the work of over 100 artists. Arnie Holland, who previously worked at RCA Video and Capitol Records before founding Lightyear, is based in Studio City, California. Sky Spooner, who previously worked in A&R at S-Curve Records and Columbia Records before joining Lightyear, works out of New York City.
